Big ideas all start somewhere.

For me, it started when Travis Gilbert shared the secret to a thriving garden. He said, "It has very little to do with the plants and everything to do with the soil. Take care of the soil, and you can plant anything — and it will grow."

That simple idea has been the guiding principle behind everything we've built over the past twenty years, culminating in Côte Brillante — where Haitian families are buying homes, building businesses, and investing in the future. For me, this is one expression of the Gospel at work — praying and working toward "on earth as it is in heaven."

There are countless stories that bring this to life: a boatbuilder who fled gang violence in Port-au-Prince now runs his business from Côte Brillante. A pastor who moved to the Dominican Republic in search of work is now our lead construction manager. In Côte Brillante people are putting down roots because the opportunities are transformational and inspiring hope.

Today, we're ready for the next chapter: Haiti SAR — the same principles, scaled a hundred times. A thousand times. Not simply to change a narrative, but to help change the trajectory of a nation.

Haiti's situation is dire. That's why I believe this is one of the most consequential opportunities for Haiti in our lifetime: to help Haiti get unstuck.

So I'm asking the global community to help us move from concept to scale — so that one day, the garden might become the landscape.

The First $1 Million campaign will help us finish Côte Brillante well while assembling the partnerships, team, and resources needed to put Haiti SAR on the map and before the people who can help make it a reality.
